Against the Gods S2 Is Finally Here
Against the Gods S2
If you haven't seen it yet, it's two minutes of Yun Che looking angry and Jasmine looking annoyed.
Look, I'm not gonna pretend Against the Gods is some deep literary masterpiece. It's a revenge story where the MC gets wronged, dies (kind of), comes back, and makes everyone pay. But here's the thing — it's fun. Season 2 is dropping April 16 with 52 episodes, and if you liked the first one, you probably already know if you're watching.
End of Season 1, Yun Che was cornered at Cloud's End Cliff and basically jumped to his death. Except he didn't die. He woke up in the body of Xiao Che — a sickly, powerless kid in a completely different world. His spiritual veins are trashed, everyone thinks he's useless, and the only thing he's got going for him is the Sky Poison Pearl, which somehow followed him across dimensions.
Inside that pearl is Jasmine. She's small, she's angry, and she's the only reason Yun Che isn't dead ten times over. She teaches him forbidden techniques, helps him unlock power he shouldn't have, and generally keeps him from getting himself killed while he figures out how to survive in this new world.
Oh, and there's a whole revenge plot brewing. Because of course there is. Yun Che doesn't just want to live — he wants to tear down everyone who wronged him. And honestly? I'm here for it.
🎬 Studio: Foch Film. They did Season 1 as well, so expect more of the same animation quality. It's not Battle Through the Heavens level, but it's clean enough and the fight choreography usually delivers.
📺 Platform: iQIYI, exclusive. 52 episodes means it's gonna run for a while, so you'll have something to watch every week for the next year basically.
📖 Source: Mars Gravity's web novel. If you've read it, you know where this is going. If you haven't... buckle up. It gets wild.
- Jasmine. She's the best part of this show and you can't convince me otherwise. Tiny angry guide who could kill everyone if she wanted to? Yes please.
- The power scaling. Yun Che starts from absolute zero this season. Watching him claw his way back up is way more satisfying than him just being OP from day one.
- The revenge. Let's be real, that's why we're all here. The moment he starts settling scores is gonna be chef's kiss.
Is it gonna win any awards? Probably not. Is it a solid way to kill 20 minutes every week? Absolutely. If you liked Season 1, you'll like this. If you dropped it because the pacing was weird... maybe give it another shot. Sometimes a new season is all a show needs to find its rhythm.
